We've made this with butternut squash and hubbard squash, and it's delicious either way. You could probably also use a pumpkin.

1 squash
1 large onion, diced
buncha garlic cloves, mashed
1 can broth (chicken or vegetable)
1 small carton heavy whipping cream
salt
pepper
nutmeg

Peel squash and chop into large chunks. Sauté onion and garlic with squash in heavy pot. When onions are translucent, add broth, lower heat and simmer 8-10 minutes or until squash is soft. Purée squash in blender with heavy cream. Season to taste.
